Communication is Key Theme at the 2017 DFK Canada Conference

22 May 2017

Communication will be one of the main themes at this year’s DFK Canada Conference taking place in the picturesque Rocky Mountains.

The 2017 conference will take place at the Delta Banff Royal Canadian Lodge, based in Banff National Park, from Wednesday, June 7 to Friday, June 9.

Delegates are invited to enjoy an interesting programme of events including presentations, networking and social activities.

Speakers will include family enterprise advisor Trudy Pelletier, who will be presenting on how to facilitate communications among family members running a business together, and Eliot Hoppe, a motivational leadership expert who will be speaking about the influence of body language.

Host firm KMSS has chosen to hold the conference away from their offices to allow delegates to enjoy some of the social activities on offer in Banff. There will be an opportunity to take part in a guided hike around Tunnel Mountain or a bus tour and gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain.

Bryce Eidsness, Managing Partner at KMSS, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming delegates to this year’s annual conference in the scenic Rocky Mountains. We have some interesting speakers, opportunities to share best practices and a range of social events.

“Traditionally we would host the conference in the city and invite delegates to our offices, however this year we decided to hold it at a resort location to give those attending a chance to enjoy some outdoor activities.

“KMSS has been a member of DFK for more than 25 years and we are very strong supporters. The organisation provides an excellent opportunity to share ideas and best practices, and 11 out of our 14 partners will be attending this year’s conference, which is very encouraging.

“We have a lot of camaraderie in the group, and I am particularly looking forward to meeting with member firms.”

DFK Canada Executive Director Lynn Morrovat added: “This year’s conference is being held in the lovely town of Banff and delegates can look forward to some amazing scenery.

“We currently have around 60 delegates signed up to attend, and member firms can expect a good mix of business interspersed with social activities.

“I would like to thank the team at KMSS who have been wonderful to work with in planning the conference. This will only be my second DFK Canada conference, so I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with member firms as well as meeting new faces.”
