DFK member firm, Taylor Leibow LLP Accountants and Advisors, is celebrating 70 years in Hamilton. Founded in 1947 by Samuel Taylor and Kevey Leibow, the company grew from humble beginnings of a shared desk and telephone to one of the largest independent regional accounting firms in the greater Hamilton and Burlington regions. The firm has continued to grow and currently occupies approximately 20,000 square feet on the 7th and 8th floors at Effort Square. Taylor Leibow also has a Burlington office and a satellite office in St. Catharines.

Nigel Jacobs, CEO of Taylor Leibow commented “When you’re celebrating a significant milestone such as 70 years, you evaluate what could be the reasons for such longevity. In my view, it can be attributed to the tremendous legacy left by our founding partners, Samuel Taylor and Kevey Leibow. They epitomized professionalism, quality client service and contribution to the community. In addition, one of the most important reasons for our success has been our ability to deal with succession and transition into a third generation partnership.”

Over the decades Taylor Leibow has expanded its service offerings from a traditional accounting firm to a full service professional firm. The diversification into new services includes a business valuation and litigation support practice, business restructuring, personal insolvency, business advisory services and more. Taylor Leibow provides services to private companies, owner-managed businesses and organizations in the not-for-profit sector. The strategy of providing superior client service in the changing marketplace led the firm to join DFK International, a major association of independent accounting firms and business advisors. The association has over 400 offices across the world. This affiliation has enhanced Taylor Leibow’s ability to raise the profile of the Hamilton and Burlington regions, and provides exceptional worldwide service in a constantly changing global environment.

“The ability to adapt to change often defines the strength of an organization and Taylor Leibow has successfully managed this process” commented Nigel Jacobs.=

Like the Lancaster bomber, one of only two now flying in the world and continues to be housed at Hamilton’s Warplane Heritage Museum (click here to view high-res image [2MB]), Taylor Leibow’s longevity is testament to its commitment to service, reliability and leadership in its field.

Taylor Leibow supports and participates with many charities and not-for-profit organizations both financially and through board involvement. The firm strongly believes in being involved in the community in which it operates by giving back expertise, time and financial assistance for worthy community activities.

Taylor Leibow’s focus of being more than bean counters and exercising exceptional leadership continues to enable us to remain one of the largest independent regional accounting firms in the greater Hamilton and Burlington regions.
